CHALLENGE

Launching originally as Prominent Placement (PPI) in 2001, Big Drum is a respected pioneer in SEM AND CRO. In 2014, they recognized the need to rebrand. Their brand and name were too small to capture and differentiate their results and leadership. They needed to understand the competitive universe, and strategic guidance to redefine the brand and implement a fresh identity program that would reflect their culture, growth and capabilities.

 

SOLUTION

We began by performing secondary research to assess opportunities in the burgeoning CRO industry, key audience profiles/ICPs, and the brands within the competitive environment. Working collaboratively with the PPI team and creative partners, we applied that intelligence to undertake a structured re-naming process that integrated input from team members and stakeholders, and characteristics of the fresh brand. We identified Big Drum as the new company name, and vetted its legal, digital and brand availability.

With all these details firmly in place, we developed tone, and verbal and visual identity to bring the brand to life. Application included a new website, optimized with proper navigation and keywords in meta and content, business materials, and collateral.
